‘Absolute masterpiece!’ Adele’s latest single gains fans’ approval after six year wait

The song titled ‘Easy on Me’, a piano ballad, was released at midnight UK time and is the lead single from Adele’s highly anticipated fourth album titled 30, which is due November 19.  The song was reportedly the first track written for the singer’s next album.

Adele had previously played a snippet of the song during her first Instagram Live last week.

Within five hours of its release the music video had already reached over nine million views on YouTube and topped the iTunes chart in twenty countries.

People were quick to respond online to the fifteen time-Grammy Award winner’s latest single.

Steven Turner wrote on Twitter: “We will be listening to “Easy on Me” all weekend.”

Josh Rom, entertainment reporter at GB News tweeted: “ADELE IS BACK and this British global sensation is back on form!”

Twitter user This Is Hip Hop said: “One of the best songs this year. Amazing, absolutely AMAZING.”

Another user Nicola added: “Absolute masterpiece. Everyone had such huge expectations but you’ve surpassed them yet again. Thank you for this incredible gift.”

She told Vogue magazine: “I wanted to explain to him through this record, when he’s in his 20s or 30s, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness.”

In the new single she sings: “I had good intentions and high hopes but I know it now probably doesn’t even show.”

Her debut album 19 was released in 2008, followed by 21 in 2011 and 25 in 2015. She has also won an Oscar for the soundtrack of the movie ‘Skyfall’.
