Dan Walker grilled Anne-Marie Trevelyan, the Secretary of State for International Trade, during a heated debate over accusations of Government corruption on Monday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast. Walker, who appeared unimpressed with the Tory MP’s answers about an emergency debate in Parliament later in the day asked if she was taking the matter “seriously”.
A three-hour emergency debate will take place in the Commons for MPs to debate accusations of Government corruption.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer is demanding Prime Minister Boris Johnson “must apologise” to the country for his handling of the Owen Paterson sleaze row which has engulfed Parliament.
During the BBC Breakfast interview with Trevelyan on the matter, Dan asked: “Forgive me, I am not trying to be rude, it just seems like you’re being quite dismissive of what I think are genuine concerns from lots of people about issues they see in the Conservative party and an important debate today.
