BBC's Radio 4 taken off air as Today Programme thrown into chaos after staff evacuation

An alarm sounded in the studio ordering people to leave the building where BBC Radio 4’s Today programme was being recorded. The alarm could be heard instructing people to “leave immediately” on Monday morning. The cause of the chaos is not yet clear.

A voice could be heard by those tuned in, which said: “Please leave the building immediately by the nearest exit.”

One presenter commented: “You may be able to hear we have a little alarm going on here.”

The show has since been taken off air due to what seemed to be an unfolding emergency.
