Brand new drama Black Mafia Family (BMF) has already generated enough buzz to warrant another season after just two episodes aired on Starz. Working on the next instalments of Power, producer Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about his vision for the series.
50 Cent’s new series Black Mafia Family was quickly renewed for a second season after its series premiere drew top ratings for US network Starz.
Home of the producer and hip-hop legend’s previous crime drama, Power, the creative force behind BMF opened up to Express Online about the show’s future.
Only two episodes of the show have aired so far, but 50 Cent is convinced Starz has another major hit on their hands.
“I expect this series to go seven seasons,” the rapper and producer confirmed.

During the very early stages of the show, Starz immediately latched onto the premise and made sure to fine-tune the first season as much as possible.
50 Cent recalled: “We just gave you a beat sheet, that’s not the actual outline, that’s nothing!
“And they already have all this additional stuff because they want to make sure it’s a great project.”
BMF could also fill the hole left by Starz’ fellow crime drama, Power, which is currently on hiatus and awaiting the return of spin-offs Ghost and Raising Kanan.
“Before we could finish the first season of Raising Kanan it was already picked up for season two,” he added.
50 Cent spoke to Express before the news of an official second season was announced by Starz.
Thankfully, the renewal came shortly after the season premiere, and the producer is hoping to capture the same magic next year.
Finally, he said: “With BMF I would be really surprised if there wasn’t a second season because I see seven.”
Hopefully, the producer gets his wish and the dramatic story of the Flenory brothers can be told in full over the coming years.
BMF season 1 continues Sundays on Starz.
