Camilla is ‘always accommodating’ says Robert Jobson
Within Andrew Morton’s book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, the author claims codes and signals were sent by those at the very top of the Royal Family to Meghan Markle, 40 and her husband Prince Harry, 37 during their time as royals. Mr Morton claims that these show a level of affection towards the American actress and were evidence of a close bond shared between Meghan, and her in-laws.
According to the book, images of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 74 show the royal reportedly extending gestures to the Duchess of Sussex to show that she was accepted within the family.
The couple famously stepped back from royal duties in early 2020, and moved to the US and they now reside in California along with their two children Archie and Lilibet.
Among those said to bestow a “secret coded” gesture to the Sussexes, was the consort of future king Prince Charles, according to Mr Morton.
Within his book, which was first published in 2018 with the new updated edition due to be published later this month, Mr Morton claims Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have misled the world in suggesting their relationship was never accepted by senior royals.

He claims that the “genuine affection” and gestures evidenced by Camilla show that Meghan was welcomed into the throng.
The royal author alleges that Camilla broke typical royal protocol to hold hands with Meghan and kiss her goodbye at a very public event in honour of her husband Prince Charles’ 70th birthday.
Mr Morton said: “This rare royal gesture was a sign of how quickly the American actor had been accepted and treated with genuine affection by the Royal Family.
“On that day, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who had previously advised Kate Middleton on the finer points of protocol during her royal apprenticeship, was, without saying a word, signalling to the watching world that Meghan was now ‘one of us’.”

Mr Morton claims secret codes and signals were sent to Meghan by other royal family members
The news comes following Meghan and Harry’s widely publicised tell-all interview with US host Oprah Winfrey where the pair made a series of claims about their time as senior members of the Firm.
Speaking in March 2021, the couple made a series of allegations during the two-hour TV special, including claims of racism from one member within the family, and Meghan admitted that she felt suicidal during her pregnancy,
The pair also spoke several times about “constraints” they felt were in place during their time as Royal Family members, relating to their relationship with the media, their mental health, and their personal freedom.

During the interview, Prince Harry said: “I was trapped, but I didn’t know I was trapped.”
“They don’t get to leave,” he added of his relatives, saying they are “trapped within the system” and that he has “huge compassion for that”.
The couple also stated that their reasoning for stepping away from royal duties was due to a “lack of support and lack of understanding” from the Firm as a whole.
Elsewhere during the TV interview, the Duchess of Sussex also described how she had been told not to see friends because she was “oversaturated” in the media and should lie low.

However, according to Mr Morton the Duchess was photographed in restaurants in Notting Hill and attended beauty treatment appointments during this time.
He alleges that paparazzi images of the sightings were turned down by British newspapers, due to UK regulations, which bar the use of material obtained through “intimidation, harassment or persistent pursuit,” which includes photographers following celebrities without their consent.
After the interview was aired, Buckingham Palace released a statement saying that “some recollections may vary” but that the issues raised are “taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately”.
It also said that the Royal Family still had affection for the now ex-royals, by adding: “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”
