The mystery winner would be eligible for £10,000 a month for the next 30 years – but they have less than two weeks left to claim their prize. The ticket was purchased more than five months ago in the Three Rivers District in Hertfordshire – for the draw on May 6.
The winner has until midnight on Tuesday, November 2 to claim their prize, or they will no longer be eligible for the money.
Anyone who may have bought a ticket in the area on that day is being told to check – and remind their friends and family to do the same.
In a bid to hunt down the potential winner, the National Lottery took a giant replica of the winning Set For Life ticket to Rickmansworth Town. They hope it will help unite the winner with the life-changing sum.
The National Lottery has also been doing some number crunching to uncover the habits of previous winners.
According to their data, just 25 percent of previous lottery winners checked their tickets within hours of a draw.
Around one third waited a day to check.
But in the area where the potential winner could live, more than 20 percent of people admitted to forgetting their ticket completely.
In the same area, just four percent said they were hanging onto their old tickets.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “With only days to go until the ticket is due to expire, it’s important that the Three Rivers District mystery ticket-holder stops the daydreaming, checks their Set For Life ticket, contacts us and presents their winning ticket so we can pay out this life-changing prize!
“With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.
“Anyone who has any queries or who believes they have the winning ticket for any of The National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email [email protected]
“Whether they are an HGV driver who wished on a shooting star or a carer who was given a winning prediction, we are ready and waiting, with the Champagne on ice, ready to pay out the first monthly £10,000 instalment, and then £10,000 every month for the next 30 years!

“As the days continue to tick by, we’re doing everything we can to find this ticket-holder and while there is still time, there’s still hope we will be successful.
“In the past major prizes have been claimed right at the last minute, so there’s every reason to believe our efforts today will be just as successful.”
