Cristiano Ronaldo missed training on Monday morning with Juventus and instead visited the Ferrari factory in Maranello with Andrea Agnelli and John Elkann. It comes a day after the defeat to AC Milan in Serie A.
Ronaldo skipped training on Monday morning and treated himself to a new Ferrari instead after visiting the factory at in Maranello with Juventus chief Agnelli and his cousin and business partner Elkann.
The Portuguese star was set to undergo a recovery session at the club’s world-class facilities at Continassa with his team-mates.
However, the 36-year-old had the day off instead – following a morale-crushing defeat to AC Milan on Sunday night.
Juventus are in serious trouble of qualifying for the Champions League next season after a disastrous campaign.
And that fear only amplified after a 3-0 loss to Milan, with goals from Brahim Diaz, Ante Rebic and Fikayo Tomori in Turin that leaves Juve fifth in Serie A.
It has been a year to forget for rookie coach Andrea Pirlo in his first-ever season as a manager and he looks set to be sacked at the end of the campaign.
Whether Juventus land a spot in the top four or not, Ronaldo is said to be contemplating a transfer away despite his contract expiring in 2022.
But if the Old Lady end up playing in the Europa League next year, the chances the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will hang around for long are slim.
And on Monday, Ronaldo did not see his team-mates – instead accompanying Juve chief Agnelli and Exor Chairman and CEO Elkann, who was at the Allianz Arena to watch the game against Milan on Sunday, to the Ferrari factory in Maranello, according to Football Italia.
The report also states that the former Real Madrid star treated himself to one of the famous Italian cars.
Maranello is widely known for its history tied to Ferrari, where its F1 team Scuderia Ferrari is also home.
