Doctor Who: Jodie Whittaker to be replaced by Danny Dyer after EastEnders exit?

Whovians have been busy speculating about which star will replace TARDIS on Doctor Who ever since Jodie Whittaker confirmed she would be leaving the BBC sci-fi. Last year, it was revealed Jodie’s final scenes playing The Doctor will air in 2022. However, after Danny Dyer recently confirmed he’d soon be leaving his role on EastEnders, some have been wondering if he could be in line for the role of Doctor Who.

Danny recently announced he’d quit his role as Mick Carter on EastEnders.

The actor’s exit scenes are set to air on the long-running BBC soap later this year.

However, this news has sparked a shake-up in betting odds of who will play The Doctor next.

Bookmakers William Hill have added the soap star to the Time Lord market after hearing the news of his EastEnders departure.

However, Danny isn’t the only star who William Hill bookmakers have odds on to take over the TARDIS.

The bookies favourites for the coveted role include Russell T Davies’, It’s A Sin alumni Lydia West (11-4), Omari Douglas (3-1) and Olly Alexander (7-2).

Good Omens and Prodigal Son star Michael Sheen also appears to be a popular choice, with odds of 5-1 to take on the Time Lord role.

Current Doctor Who actress Jodie has reportedly already filmed her regeneration scene, which is set to air later this year.
