Emmerdale villain Meena Jutla returns after exit in deadly revenge twist?

Meena’s (played by Paige Sandhu) reign of terror seemed to come to an end in the latest instalment of Emmerdale as her heinous crimes were finally exposed. Liam Cavanagh (Johnny McPherson) was fundamental in bringing the villain to her knees as he found out how she had killed his daughter, Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) and how she had been holding Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) hostage. However, before the police could make their arrest, she fled the Dales. But this is not the end of her story on the ITV soap as it’s been confirmed she will return.

Executive producer Jane Hudson spoke to Express.co.uk and other publications about the details of Meena’s return to the village and it seems it will be spectacular for viewers.

The soap boss said: “Judgement Day for Meena is coming. Whether she will get away with murder or not, you’ll have to wait to find out.

“There are still some more twists and turns to be had and some you won’t see coming, but I think we’re all agreed that Meena can do pretty much anything.

“Judgement Day for Meena won’t play out quite as you expect and it will have a lasting effect on quite a few of our villagers.

“I think within the next few months Meena will get what’s coming to her,” the executive producer explained, teasing the villain’s final chapter.

With Liam destroying her plans to murder Manpreet and Vinny, Meena would surely want her revenge on him as he had been planning her sister’s death for weeks.

Several times since she took Manpreet hostage the serial killer said she would be angry if someone had spoilt her fun.

Lo and behold the doctor did when he whacked the murderer around the head when he found her at an abandoned barn outside of the village all by herself.

He initially turned up to talk to her about the fake pregnancy she had lied about and the subsequent miscarriage on Christmas Day.

The villain thought she had managed to manipulate him and when she believed he’d gone back to the Dales, she entered the barn to end her sister’s life.

Liam will be taunted by the grief of losing his daughter all over again.

She could sneak into the shadows and play mind games with the doctor before finally going in for the kill as an act of revenge.

However, this could be the death that leads to her arrest and banishment to prison as she’s caught in the act this time.

Jane teased her comeuppance and how it will have an impact on several villagers which Liam’s demise certainly would have.

Not only would it affect his wife, Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), it would also leave a lasting mark with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson).

The actress who plays Meena, Paige, previously spoke about leaving her character behind her when she does eventually depart.

Paige said: “I will miss everything because I love her. I think she’s hilarious, she’s got so much charisma, she’s so strange, she is just odd and everything about her.

“She’s so weird and it’s so much fun to play such a weird character.

“Going to those dark places is really fulfilling but then there’s that slightly comedic edge which is always fun [to play].

“I love her flamboyancy. I think everything about her I’ll miss,” she added in an interview with Inside Soap Magazine.

Although she teased a return for Meena, Jane did not explain when the comeback would air and there is a multitude of possibilities available.

Not only is there a possible stunt week set to air sometime in either the Spring or the Summer but there is also the show’s 50th anniversary.

Christmas is also another contender with the New Year also on the cards for when the villain’s final chapter could air.

Viewers will have to keep their eyes peeled for signs of Meena’s devilish games and whether Liam’s time could be up.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode airing on Thursdays at 8pm.
