Team Europe travel to the Ryder Cup, which was delayed a year due to the Covid pandemic, in Wisconsin having dominated proceedings in the most recent editions against their USA rivals. But it certainly won’t be easy this time round, with Steve Stricker’s side possessing a vast array of talent.

Europe have won four of their last five meetings, including most recently in 2018 at Le Golf National in Paris, having emphatically beaten USA 17½–10½.

The Americans had won the previous edition in 2016 on home soil, thrashing Europe 17-11.

But Europe had won all three Ryder Cups before that and will be desperate to pull off another victory on unfamiliar soil this time round against a fired up US side.

However, they know an almighty task stands in their way at Whistling Straits – against an American side who have seven of their players in the world’s top 10 currently, including Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

Stricker’s men will fancy their chances but know Europe always head into the Ryder Cup fired up, and their charge will be led by Spain’s current world No 1 Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy.
