Guy Sebastian talks about his long-running feud with Iggy Azalea and admits they 'just didn't vibe'

Guy Sebastian spoke about his enduring feud with Iggy Azalea during an interview with The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Friday.

The 39-year-old singer admitted it was ‘no secret’ that he and Iggy didn’t get along after they appeared as judges together on The X Factor back in 2016.

‘We just didn’t vibe. She didn’t vibe with me. It’s just one of those things. You can’t get along with everyone,’ he said matter-of-factly.

Despite long-standing reports Guy grew fed up with the 30-year-old rapper’s lateness, Guy insisted it was more just a personality clash.

In a previous interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show back in May 2019, the Choir hitmaker said Iggy was ‘awful’ to him while filming the singing competition show.

‘She made us all wait for, like, three hours, and rocks up [on set] and has an attitude. I didn’t like Iggy, I was pretty open with that. She was awful to me,’ he said at the time.

The former Australian Idol winner said that Iggy should have ‘put on the charm’ to appease the crew after showing up late – but she was just a diva instead.

‘If I’m making everyone wait, which happens because I’m not the best with time, at least charm it on a bit,’ he suggested.

‘[She should have said], “Oh, I’m so sorry I’m late”, make up something and just charm them a little bit.

‘But Iggy would walk in, she’d go, “It’s my time! It’s my time!”‘

After catching wind of his interview, Iggy went on a since-deleted Twitter rant against her former colleague, branding him a ‘liar’.

‘I want to talk about how Guy Sebastian is a complete liar, let’s get into it!’ she began.

She then rattled off a list of things Guy had apparently done, claiming the ‘drama’ between them had been ‘fabricated’, and accused him of using her to ‘drum up attention’ for his role on The Voice.

Iggy then accused the former Australian Idol winner of not liking women who are bold and opinionated.

‘Lastly: I do think you dislike me but that is just deep rooted hatred of the “type” of woman I am, flamboyant and outspoken,’ she claimed.

‘You could not handle me telling you what I thought about yourself projecting onto women contestants when it came to them wanting even a hint of sparkle.’

She finished off her rant by taking a swipe at Guy’s fashion sense and bank balance.

‘Anyway, best of luck to you and your fedoras! Everyone, please watch Guy Sebastian,’ she concluded.

‘He’s on The Voice Australia and he really, really desperately needs the ratings to feed his children.’

It wasn’t the first time Guy took a swipe at the Fancy rapper, having previously told Stellar magazine that her antics on the show were ‘childish’.

‘Iggy wouldn’t rock up. And when she did, she’d just roll her eyes. I hated it. I really struggled that year,’ he said.
