Police were called shortly after 9pm on Wednesday evening to a residential property in the Edge Hill area of Liverpool. Officers from Merseyside Police responded following reports a car had crashed into parked cars and caught fire on Queensland Street.
The force confirmed a man has been arrested.
Officers raced to the scene after being alerted to a large group of people in the street.
More than seven police vehicle were deployed to the incident.
Pictures from the scene show a black three-door car mounted on the curb after hitting a front garden wall.
The bonnet of the vehicle has suffered serious damage and debris from the car is scattered along the pavement.
Police said no one was injured during the incident.
A large police cordon was in place overnight from Wavertree Road to Picton Road.
An investigation remains ongoing.

“Patrols were dispatched to the scene and the large group has now dispersed.
“A male has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
“Patrols are remaining in the area and enquiries are ongoing.”
