Jack said that he has ‘resentment’ over the situation and ‘wish he treated her better.’

‘I miss my mum,’ Jack said, before describing the single mother as ‘caring, loving, the most generous mum ever.’

‘She’s always worked three or four jobs just to keep a roof over our head,’ he said.

‘Our relationship has been hard over the years. Like when I won [Australia’s got Talent] our dynamic completely switched and I was the bread winner.’

Jack went on to say that at the time, he felt like he was ‘parenting himself.’

‘There was nothing she could do but I almost felt like I was almost parenting myself. I have so much resentment now that I can’t control. I think in here I’m just reflecting on how I wish I’d treated her better,’ he said.

Jess sweetly comforted Jack and said that his mother would instantly forgive him.

‘Through a mum’s eyes, mum’s don’t think that, that’s what kids do, they say mean stuff to parents,’ Jess said.

She made Jack smile when she added: ‘There would not be a mum on this planet that wouldn’t be proud of your mate… My god you’re gorgeous, I’d have you as a child. You’d have the best teeth in the family!’

Jack rose to fame as a fresh-faced teen on Australia’s Got Talent back in 2011.

In January last year, as he prepared to make his music comeback with the release of his single, he told Daily Mail Australia that appearing on the AGT felt ‘like a lifetime ago.’

Jack – who took part in The Voice in 2019 – admitted that he had to step away from the spotlight to ‘grow up’ before returning to the public eye.

‘It’s pretty insane looking back that it happened. It was an incredible experience and I’m so grateful for it.’

He said he also felt like his break away from the industry was worthwhile.

‘It was also so nice to have that break as well to chill out, grow up and be a kid for a little while and to come back over the last year,’ he explained.

‘I’ve been able to comeback into it after forming my own beliefs and onions and all that kind of thing and becoming an adult and stepping back into the public eye and to having a career in the music industry.’
