In response to a video posted by Boris Johnson on Twitter on Monday evening, where the Prime Minister appears eating fish and chips with the Tory slogan “Build Back Better” on screen, former Brexit Party MEP and businesswoman June Mummery said: “This is so disrespectful to the fisherman & coastal communities.”
Mr Johnson’s video eating fish and chips is one among a series he has been publishing on the social media platform where food, beverage and the phrase “build back better” take centre stage.
The other two videos Mr Johnson has shared see him sipping from a pint of beer and spreading butter on a slice of toast – all under the hashtag #BuildBackBetter and drawing upon a word game that has made for divided reactions.

One user, @Melissa5857, said: “Oh Boris – you’re brilliant.”
Another one, @frankyleaf, asked: “Is this deep fake or real? Genuine question.”
As per the Brexit agreement reached with the EU at the end of 2021, 25 percent of the EU’s fishing rights in UK waters will be transferred to the UK by June 30, 2026.
Some 15 percent will be transferred this year while the remaining part will be transferred gradually — 2.5 percent per year — in the following four years.
Ms Mummery commented: “You lied to the UK when you said we would take back control of fishing.
“UK fisherman deflated thinking of calling it a day. 1,659 EU vessels plundering our Ocean on a daily basis.”
Responding to another of Mr Johnson’s #BuildBackBetter videos, Ms Mummery asked: “What is it with this ‘BuildBackBetter’?
“I know it’s not the fishing industry because you gave that away.
“Can somebody please explain this slogan? Have I missed something?”
