Jennifer Aniston details tough Friends reunion after 'hard truths, loss and miscarriages'

Jennifer Aniston, 52, has reflected on the emotional experiences she and her co-stars faced while filming the two-hour long landmark Friends reunion, which was streamed on HBO Max earlier this year. The Morning Show actress said the special, which she and her co-stars attended with “blissful ignorance”, was like “a sucker punch to the heart”.

Jennifer, who played Rachel Green in the hit NBC show, admitted that the young cast were “all bright eyed and bushy-tailed, looking toward the future, but there was a lot to come for everyone” when the show ended.

She added: “Hard truths and changes and loss and babies and marriages and divorces and miscarriages.”

Jennifer explained that she and her co-stars – Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry – didn’t realise how emotional the reunion would be for them all following their tough experiences after the show ended.

She added to The New York Times: “We were thinking, ‘How much fun is this going to be, to go back to Stage 24 exactly the way it was, exactly the way we left it.’

“And then I went online to see what was happening and I was like, ‘That is the funniest rumor that I never heard that got shot down in the quickest amount of time.’”

The messages made reference to a catchphrase from the programme.

David’s character, Ross Geller, would say he thought his and Jennifer’s character, Rachel Green, were “on a break” when he had intimate relations with another woman after an argument.

Despite the speculation, the pair have clarified their relationship is not romantic.
