Joe Biden caught out by hot mic as President blasts American press 'Extremely troubling!'

Joe Biden has been slammed after the President was overheard making negative comments about the American press to the Indian Prime Minister during a White House Meeting. Last Friday, in the presence of the Indian media, the US leader said the American media was not as well behaved and “won’t take questions on point.” The remarks sparked a furious reaction from Fox News hosts who asked “what happened to the leader of the free world taking questions?”

During a meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Biden said: “What we are going to do is bring in the press.

“The Indian press is much better behaved than the American press.

“And I think, with your permission, you could not answer questions because they won’t take questions on point.”

The Fox News presenter, introducing the clip, described Mr Biden’s remarks as “incredibly revealing”.

“Also extremely troubling,” added his co-host.

Commenting on the incident, the Fox News presenter asked: “So what happened to the leader of the free world taking questions?

“It is tradition.”

Last week at a meeting with Boris Johnson at the White House, Mr Biden was overheard saying “good luck,” after the Prime Minister asked the press for only a couple of follow-up questions.

“Is there more worry about the embarrassment and other issues potentially with him that could be revealed by these sorts of questions?”

On September 12, a live-streamed briefing with the President on the wildfires engulfing parts of the USA was cut short abruptly leading reporters puzzled.

The Sky News Australia pundit accused the White Houe of looking to “shut the reporters out before they can ask questions”.
