Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to offer Donny van de Beek a lifeline as the Dutchman looks to get his career back on track. The midfielder endured yet another difficult evening in Manchester United red last night despite starting the Europa League semi-final defeat to Roma.
Van de Beek played the entire 90 minutes but was shoehorned in on the left side of the attack.
It’s a role that he hasn’t played before, once again reiterating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s struggle to fit him into his side.
The former Ajax man has started just two Premier League games this season and is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
United received a loan offer for the player in January but were not willing to let him leave the club.

Roma allegedly politely declined given that Zaniolo is their most valuable asset, despite two separate cruciate knee ligament ruptures.
Yet the report claims Roma remain interested in Van de Beek, who is now a target for new boss Mourinho.
Roma confirmed on Tuesday that they had completed the shock appointment of the Portuguese from next season.
He will replace Paulo Fonseca at the Stadio Olimpico and is expected to be given money to spend.
Mourinho has been linked with a host of United and Tottenham players since his next move was confirmed.
David de Gea, who was man of the match for United last night in Rome, has been linked with a shock reunion with his old boss.
Other reports claim Mourinho’s Tottenham favourites Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are also being targeted.
Van de Beek is also understood to have interest from both Juventus and Inter Milan.
