Logan Mwangi murder: Boy, 14, charged over death of five-year-old found in Bridgend river

South Wales Police said the youngster, who has not been named due to his age, is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. Logan was found dead in the river near Pandy Park in Bridgend. Police had been called to a report of a missing child at 5.45am on July 31. He was taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital in the town, where it was confirmed that he had died.

The child’s mother and stepfather have both already appeared in court in connection with his death.

John Cole, 39, has been charged with murder.

He and Logan’s mother, Angharad Williamson, 30, have been charged with perverting the course of justice.

A 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also appeared in court charged with perverting the course of justice.
