Man Utd's stunning XI under Luis Enrique as 'private decision' made on Solskjaer sack

Midfield: Fernandes, De Jong, Olmo

With the likes of Scott McTominay and Fred leaving lots to be desired this campaign, United could undergo a strategy of strengthening in the middle of the park.

El Chiringuito reported this week that Barcelona are prepared to sanction the sale of Frenkie de Jong at the right price, and the club could be wise to snap him up given his ability to take the ball in tight spaces.

Gifted RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, who had a brief overlap with Enrique at Barca, has also been linked to several top clubs ahead of the January window, although his release clause is believed to be over £60million.

While Paul Pogba’s ongoing contract standoff could soon leave him out of the equation, Bruno Fernandes is still a fixture of United’s side and would surely continue to be so under Enrique.
