Two Met Office warnings are in place weekend, one on Saturday and another on Sunday, both for snow and ice.
On Saturday nearly the entire UK is covered by the warning, which starts at 4pm on Friday and lasts until 10.30am on Saturday.
The warning area includes Central, Tayside and Fife, East of England, the East Midlands, Highlands and Eilean Siar, London and South East England, North East England, North West England, Northern Ireland, Orkney and Shetland, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders, South West England, Strathclyde, Wales, West Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber.
The Met Office warns: “Showers will continue at times across many areas, these largely of rain and sleet at low levels across southern England and southern Wales and near coasts but will be of sleet and snow elsewhere. These will bring a cover of snow in places.”
