News channel airs 13 seconds of pornography during live weather report

Viewers tuning into US news station KREM were given a shock during a weather forecast at around 6.30pm on Sunday. Clips from the broadcast show meteorologist Michelle Boss telling audiences in Spokane, Washington, that the nice weather “can’t last forever” without realising the explicit images were on the screen behind her.

The video appeared to be of a naked woman and was on the screen for approximately 13 seconds.

Neither Ms Boss nor the presenter acknowledged the blunder, but KREM apologised during its later 11pm news broadcast.

The station said: “Those of us here at KREM want to apologise for something that happened in our 6pm newscast tonight.

“An inappropriate video aired in the first part of the show. We are diligently working to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.”

“The Spokane Police Department’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) and Technical Assistance Response Unit (TARU), responded to the local station to conduct an investigation as to how the image appeared and where it came from.

“The station’s personnel are cooperating fully with SPD in the attempt to determine what happened.

“At the time of this release, the investigation is ongoing, and no culpability of any kind has been determined.”
