After a surprising end to season five, Outlander’s fans have been patiently waiting to find out the fate of their favourite characters. As they continue to wait, Sam Heughan who played Jamie Fraser shared a behind the scenes snap of his character and his wife, causing a frenzy on social media.
Sam shared a photo on his Instagram page of Jamie and Claire, with their arms stretched out towards the time travelling stones – captioned “I’m not crying, You’re crying.”
In the comments, fans recalled the episode and wrote how emotional it made them.
Sassenchever commented: “Crying so much, this scene was so heartbreaking.
“It’s true, I’m a bawling mess at this point in the episode,” shared Alissa.
Lise added: “What an incredible acting by you and Cait, every time I watch this scene it tears my heart apart, this scene goes to the TV history.”

The image Sam had posted was from a scene in season two when Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe “had to return back to the future.
She had first stumbled across the mysterious, time-travelling stones while on honeymoon with her first husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies).
After touching them she accidentally travelled back to 18th century Scotland and was forced to go into hiding after her English accent gained her the unwanted attention of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies).
This is where Claire met Jamie as he too was in hiding after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit.
Despite this, he agreed to keep the real identity of Claire’s baby a secret and raise their daughter Brianna as his own.
20 years passed before Claire and Jamie would have their emotional reunion, which was only possible because Frank suffered a fatal car crash.
Since then Claire had lived in the past with Jamie and after she finished university Brianna (Sophie Skelton) joined her mother and started a family in the past.
Claire was able to use her skills as a World War II nurse to help those in need, especially because she had some advanced knowledge of medicine and treatment.
Fast forward to the upcoming sixth season, fans will be glad to hear filming has wrapped and viewers will be able to stream the episodes soon.
There is also an impending war between the Frasers and the Browns, after Marsali Fraser (Lauren Lyle) injected Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) with a poisonous substance.
This came after he and his men raped Claire as punishment for encouraging sexual liberation.
Jamie was able to kill all his men, but after Marsali got to Lionel his brother saw his lifeless body and threatened war.
Outlander season six will be available to watch in early 2022 on Stars in the USA and Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
