Beatrice herself holds a royal name from the Victorian era, as Princess Beatrice was also the name of Queen Victoria’s youngest daughter.

Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew opted for Victorian names for both their children, with Princess Eugenie’s name thought to be a tribute to Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, Queen Victoria’s granddaughter.

Eugenie’s middle names are also Victoria and Helena, with Helena the name of Queen Victoria’s third daughter, Princess Helena.

The York family’s Victorian theme for baby names continued earlier this year when Princess Eugenie welcomed her first son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

Queen Victoria’s beloved consort, Prince Albert, held the name Augustus as a middle name.
