Sophie Wessex gets Queen's backing after Countess stuns at latest engagement

In the wake of the death of the Duke of Edinburgh in April 2021, the Earl and Countess of Wessex were among the very first visitors to the bereaved Queen.

Often using her royal platform where she can, Sophie had said in an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine in 2020 that it “took a while” for her to adjust to what she could do as a working member of the royal family.

She married Prince Edward in 1999 after a successful career in public relations.

With her royal title, however, came a change of lifestyle.
