Controversial television presenter and former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has admitted he has no interest in having a debate with Alex B
Controversial television presenter and former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has admitted he has no interest in having a debate with Alex Beresford after they argued over Meghan Markle’s landmark interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier in the year. The presenter snubbed his former colleague after winning a TRIC Award for News Presenter of the Year.
Asked if he has spoken to Alex since his exit from God Morning Britain, Piers told Express.co.uk: “No.
“He was annoying enough when I worked with him. Why would I bother now?”
Addressing walking off the show during a heated argument with Alex, Piers said he regretted his actions.
“People who weren’t watching thought I walked off into the sunset and never came back,” he recalled.

“I shouldn’t have walked off the show when I did, but leaving, I don’t have regrets about leaving the show.
“Walking off because the deputy weather stand in guy says something annoying isn’t right.
“I wasn’t in control of my faculty. It was either that or give him a Glasgow kiss. I decided that wouldn’t go down well.”
Piers also spoke about his recent Ofcom win after Meghan Markle lodged a complaint over his comments on Good Morning Britain about her mental health.
“I’ve got a plan. Might be coming quite soon. Can’t tell you anymore,” he teased.
“Man the battle stations, it won’t be long.”
While he may not be planning a return, Piers has been keeping an eye on his old co-hosts.
“I watched it this morning,” Piers said. “I was shouting at the telly but mainly at Shamima Begum.
“One of the privileges of not doing it is I don’t have to get out of bed that early.
“I don’t watch it often but I did this morning. If they’ve got something big I’ll watch, if I hear something is going down.
“I want them to be successful, it’s a show I put my heart and soul into for five years, you don’t want it to fail but obviously it’s a different show without me and they’ll just have to somehow struggle through.”
The TRIC Awards were the first time Piers and Susanna had seen each other since his GMB exit.
“Really nice!” he said of their reunion. “I haven’t seen her since I left so it was very emotional.
“You get very close to someone when you work that close together. Not that many men have seen Susanna Reid consistently at 5am in her car. I’m one of those people. It’s a privilege.”
