A Jeremy Vine caller has erupted at Beverley Turner, accusing her of anti-vaccine rhetoric that is “affecting the lives of everyone”. Caller Brian from Buckinghamshire has also blamed anti-vaxxers for spreading misinformation on social media. The heated row came after the Government announced that frontline NHS staff have to be fully vaccinated in order to keep their jobs.
Calling on Jeremy Vine on Five show, Brian from said: “I believe any form of removal of anti-vaxxer messages is vitally important.
“Myself, the majority of my family work in hospitals. My other half is actually sleeping as we speak, having done a night shift.
“I have somebody that works in all areas.
“We’ve seen the effects of Covid.
“We know with the majority of people that are coming through the hospital doors are people that have not been vaccinated.”
Ms Turner however took issue with Brian’s accusations, hitting back: “Well, first of all, thank you for your work and your family, but what do you mean by anti-vaxx content?
“I find that phrase really fascinating. What do you mean by that?”
The caller said: “Well, I’ll tell you what I mean. I actually believe, and I’m sorry for my passion here.”
He continued: “But I believe that you personally have blood on your hands.
“The messages that you portray, your rhetoric, anti-vaxx rhetoric throughout this pandemic, has been disgraceful, absolutely disgraceful.
“And there are so many people that are resistant to be vaccinated.
“They’re continually spreading this virus, which is affecting the lives of everyone.”
Ms Turner said: “I think it’s a bit much to lay that my particular door. But do believe in mandatory vaccination because I don’t.
The caller answered: “I do!”
Ms Turner continued: “So you think people should be tied to a bed with handcuffs and have this put in their arm?”
The caller said: “That’s a little bit extreme. But having said that, yes, I do.
“This is one example. I mean, I’m in my mid 60s now and I’ve been through so much. And I’m an ex-Marines too.
“This is unprecedented times. And these times yes, require radical measures.
“And there is overwhelming scientific evidence that supports the vaccines. You have to have an IQ of one not to really appreciate what the vaccines have done.”
